Boston Olympics

Last night we kicked off the trip with an Olympic party. Billy Mays and the Magic Bullets opened with the Olympic theme and a home-made torch of rolled up paper. They supplied us with a slew of well-picked eclectic covers including “Feel Like Making Love,” “Baby’s Got Back,” and “Freebird.” They kept the energy up for a three hours set, playing to a pulsating dance floor of unbridled merriment. Here are some pictures:

Trip’s Eve

So it’s the night before the big departure date, and everything is looking to be squared away. After months of waiting for knees to recover, working hard, and killing time we’ve arrived at the exciting precipice. Anticipation has reached a pinnacle.

After much debate, we decided that we couldn’t afford to take Deardra the RV. We spent the day driving her up to her original spot in Wilton. It was kind of hard to walk away from the giant hulk of a moving house knowing that the trip would have been much different with it, but it is only one of the many shifts that we are expecting. We’ve opted for the much more economical and mobile Subaru. After some minor repairs it is all fixed up. Tomorrow we’ll pack it up and ride to Boston. Farewell Deardra…
